If you have come here you are, I’m afraid, in the wrong place: ‘Here’ is the old Norman Road site, and the NEW NORMAN ROAD SITE IS HERE.
It’s the same but different. Sort of more up to date in a retro way, more shiny-shiny. And it will, when Norman stops gawping at the new banner, do more things. Which might, or might not, float your boat or biff yer beachball.
If you are nice enough to have booked marked us, please change that bookmark.
Thank you, and Enjoy!

Hello to Plenty, our new Nearly Norman provisioner of all things good in the grocery. Found on the sea front, next door to Kassa, along from Smiths, this is a great stopping place after you’ve shopped-till-you-need-a-breath-of-sea-air.
See side bar for link.
And those rumours: well, well, well. A wallpaper designer is moving on in, which is not only niche, but eclectic, and pretty damned cool too.

The wallpaper was top tomato to Admiral Benbow
And The Admiral Benbow, which used to be a pub of questionable delights, is being done up as a showroom and residence of another designer.
(The ‘Admiral Benbow’ is the name of the pub in Treasure Island, a book by Robert Louis Stevenson, based on St Leonards and Norman Road. Allegedly.)
More as it comes! Remember: you heard it here first so it’s bound to be wrong.
Oh! Hello Observer readers. Norman Road would salute you, but Observer readers might think that a bit odd, so just Hi!

From the most popular Home Brewing shop in East Sussex, nay, in the whole of Southern England, Norman Roads BUNG HO, come s a delightful tale of thrift, of recycling and perhaps of good old fashioned Englishness.
It seems that a certain Boris Johnson, a weighty panjandrum of further north, a mayor of some urban blight or other, received from his brother, 20 years ago, a Home Brew Beer kit.
Not knowing of the delights therein, he gave it back to his brother for his brother’s birthday. And got it back for his. And this kit has passed to and fro, from brother to brother for 20 years.

Obviously , and natch, this kit could not have been from BUNG HO, as it would have been put to it’s intended ambrosiacal use in the very first year, given the quality of the BUNG HO merchandise.
